A Pirith sermon in front of the Kiri Vehera to seek blessings for the entire Sri Lankan population displaced by the sudden disaster
We had to face the greatest national disaster we have ever faced in history, and our motherland is now gradually recovering from that national disaster. For this, the respected leaders, religious leaders, the tri-forces, the police, the Civil Defense Force, government officials, media institutions and the people of this country have made great efforts, said the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
The Minister said this while participating in the all-night Pirith sermon held at the historic Kirivehera in Kataragama from Saturday night (06) until dawn with the aim of wishing well-being to the entire Sri Lankan population and those displaced by the sudden disaster that struck the country seven days ago, and to express gratitude to the beloved people of the country who have passed away.
This all-night, meaningful Pirith sermon was held under the guidance and guidance of the Most Venerable Kobawaka Dhamminda Thero, the Chief Sangha Nayaka of the historic Kataragama Kirivehera Rajamaha Viharaya, Ruhunu Magampattuwa, with the blessings and participation of the Chief Sangha Nayaka of Matara and Hambantota Provinces, the Most Venerable Dewalegama Dhammasena Thero, and the Chief Venerables of the surrounding temples.
