Foreign healthcare worker assists local team after Ella–Wellawaya bus tragedy – Video
Colombo, Sept. 5 (Daily Mirror) – A female foreign healthcare worker was seen assisting Sri Lankan medical teams in the aftermath of the tragic bus accident that occurred last night (04) on the Ella–Wellawaya main road.
The woman, wearing a headlamp, was actively engaged alongside doctors and emergency responders as victims were being treated at the scene.
According to sources, she may be a trainee or medical student who happened to be nearby when the accident occurred or working at the hospital.
The accident has so far left 15 passengers dead and multiple others seriously injured.
A large-scale rescue operation was launched with the support of police, military and civilian volunteers to save the injured and transport them to hospital.
