Maithripala Sirisena Pays Additional Rs. 100 Million in Compensation to Easter victims
Certain media sources have indicated that ex-President Maithripala Sirisena has given a sum of money. 100 million in damages will be given to the victims of the Easter Sunday bombings as required by the Supreme Court. On August 16, the Office for Reparations Sri Lanka recorded the receipt of this payment in the “Easter Attack April 2019 – Victim Fund.”
The Supreme Court had earlier directed Sirisena and other officials, such as former IGP Pujith Jayasundera, to provide compensation to the victims for their inability to stop the attacks. The ex-President had already paid Rs. in July. 58 million will be given to those who were harmed.
