1.1 Million Affected as Disaster Toll Rises Across Sri Lanka

This is according to the 01st of December 

According to the latest Situation report issued by the Disaster Management Center at 6:00 PM on 01st of December, 1,151,776 people from 316,366 families have been affected by the ongoing disaster.

The report confirms that 366 people have died, while 367 remain missing. Authorities have set up 1,564 safety centers across the island, currently sheltering 218,526 individuals from 61,612 families.

The highest number of deaths has been reported from the Kandy District (88), followed by Badulla District with 71 deaths.

In addition, red notices have been issued for evacuations in eight districts due to the increased risk of landslides: Badulla, Colombo, Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Ratnapura.

The report also states that the Puttalam General Hospital will remain closed until further notice due to the prevailing situation.
