Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wutler said that strict legal action will be taken against those who spread unethical and untrue news at this time when the entire country is united in a disaster.

The Police Media Spokesperson pointed out that the Criminal Investigation Department has received several complaints regarding the spreading of news that is causing fear and disturbance to the public, and that the Computer Investigation Unit has initiated investigations into the relevant complaints.

Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wutler stated this while participating in a media briefing held at the Tri-Forces Security Headquarters today (01).

The Assistant Superintendent of Police noted that at a time when the government is committed to continuing services and supplies for the safety and well-being of the public in the country during the post-disaster period, there is a tendency for some individuals to share untrue and unverified news on social media.

The Police Media Spokesperson pointed out that issuing and publishing statements that cause fear and confusion in the public is a very wrong act, and sharing false information is a punishable offense.

Therefore, he said that on behalf of the Police Department, he respectfully requests the public not to share untrue news that is unethical and unethical at a time when the entire country is united in this time of disaster.
