New Viewing Centre for Dunhinda Falls Launched with Rs. 20 Million Investment

Construction of a new viewing centre at the popular Dunhinda Falls in the Soranathota Divisional Secretariat Division in Badulla officially commenced on July 27 under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Tourism Ruwan Ranasinghe.

The project will replace the existing viewing platform, which is more than 50 years old and currently in a dilapidated condition. The Uva Provincial Ministry of Tourism has allocated Rs. 20 million for the construction of the new facility.

The new viewing centre is expected to provide local and foreign tourists with a safer and higher-quality viewing experience, along with improved visitor infrastructure.

The initiative aims to enhance tourism in the Uva Province while ensuring the safety and convenience of visitors. The event was attended by Soranathota Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Jayalath Edirimanna, political representatives, and government officials.
