Notice to Sri Lankans living in Israel

Due to the ongoing military situation in Iran and Israel, the Embassy has taken steps to provide a certified letter to be presented at the relevant border for Sri Lankans wishing to travel from Israel to Sri Lanka via Egypt.
The Embassy has informed Sri Lankans who require such letters to come to the Embassy with their passports and visas.
Sri Lankans holding valid Israeli visas will be issued a 96-hour visa to travel through Egypt, for which a fee of US$50 will be charged, in addition to a border fee of 120 shekels.
The announcement states that the necessary letters will also be issued to persons without a visa.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara stated that despite today being a special holiday in Israel, the Sri Lankan Embassy remains open, and that Sri Lankans in need of assistance can call the telephone numbers provided by the Embassy for advice. He further stated that Sri Lankans wishing to travel to Sri Lanka or for official purposes can visit the Embassy.
