Sri Lanka, according to the World Bank!

The World Bank has released the country classifications for the period up to June 30, 2025. Accordingly, Sri Lanka remains a lower-middle-income country.
In 1998, Sri Lanka was upgraded from the low-income country category to the middle-income category.
It is also noteworthy that the entire South Asian region joined the lower-middle-income country category during the period 1987-2025.
The income levels of each country classified according to these categories have also been reduced slightly for this year.
