Lifting the ban on 05 organizations! 

It is reported that the Ministry of Defense has informed the representatives of those organizations that It is planned to remove the ban on 05 organizations out of the 11 Islamic organizations from today, July – 17, with conditions, that were banned after the terrorist attack on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019.

The Ministry of Defense has stated that the relevant gazette notification will be published on Monday, Today.

Accordingly, the ban will be lifted, and imposed on the Islamic organizations Jamiatul Ansari Sunnatul Mohammadiyya (JASM), Sri Lanka Tawheed Jamaat (SLTJ), All Ceylon Tawheed Jamaat (ACTJ), Ceylon Tawheed Jamaat (CTJ), and United Tawheed Jamaat (UTJ).

 
In a discussion held on the 14th of July, between the representatives of the relevant Islamic organizations and the Ministry of Defense, it has been emphasized that a gazette notice will be issued to remove the ban within 48 hours from the date of the meeting. If not, it was reported that related activities will be done by Monday.  
 
The Time www.thetime.lk  website had reported that several fundamental rights cases have been filed in the Supreme Court against this ban, and the large funds provided by Middle Eastern states through these organizations to provide relief to the people of Sri Lanka have also been stopped due to the relevant ban.
 
 It was reported that recently, a discussion was held between President Ranil Wickramasinghe and the religious leaders of Islam regarding the banning of these organizations, and if there are allegations against these organizations, the religious leaders had requested the President to take immediate action against them, and if there are no such allegations, to remove the ban.
 
Furthermore, it is stated that the discussion focused on the reliefs given to the people of Sri Lanka by the relevant organizations and the manner in which they were done and their transparency.
 
After that, a discussion was held between the President and the security chiefs in this regard, and it was revealed that the intelligence agencies conducted investigations on these organizations in various fields, and it is reported that no charges have been confirmed against the organizations from which this ban will be lifted.
