‘No freedom’ yet to Siridamma Thero
Galwewa Siridhamma Thero who was released on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court was subsequently remanded till December 6 after being produced before Kaduwela Magistrate over his alleged involvement in a protest held in June near Education Ministry.
Galwewa Siridhamma Thero the Convener of the Inter-University Bikku Federation (IUBF) detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) for 89 days was ordered to be released on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning.
The Attorney General’s advice is yet to be received regarding the Convener of Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF) Wasantha Mudalige who is currently in remand custody under the provisions of PTA.
The Venerable Galwewa Siridhamma Thero was granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today on two personal bails of Rs. 500,000 each.
And he was also banned from traveling overseas and making statements over the case.
