School uniforms donated by the People’s Republic of China to be received today!
The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has planned to provide free school uniforms to students of government and aided schools, as well as student monks and lay students of government-approved Pirivenas in the island this month.
The People’s Republic of China has provided 11.484 million meters of cloth to the country as a full donation and it is stated that all the cloth stocks have been received at the port by now.
The official acceptance of the donation of the uniforms is scheduled to be held today (13) under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education.
The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education states that approximately 4,418,404 students are eligible to receive school uniforms this year and arrangements will be made to distribute the uniforms to divisional offices from the 19th of this month.
