Sri Lanka Ports Authority Transfers Rs. 5 Billion to Government Consolidated Fund

The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has transferred Rs. 5 billion to the Government Consolidated Fund, the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation announced.

The relevant cheque was officially handed over at the Ministry of Finance premises by Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilaka, SLPA Chairman Admiral S.S. Ranasinghe, Managing Director Ganaka Hemachandra, Vice Chairman Herath Jayawardena, along with other officials, to Deputy Minister of Finance Anil Jayantha and Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Harshana Suriyapperuma.

Of the total amount, Rs. 2 billion had been transferred on an earlier occasion, while the remaining Rs. 3 billion was transferred yesterday, 07th January.

The Ministry stated that the 2024 dividend was efficiently managed in 2025, enabling the Ports Authority to contribute this amount to the Treasury’s Consolidated Fund. The contribution was further supported by the SLPA’s strong financial performance, with a net profit of Rs. 44,110 million recorded as at November 30, 2025, achieved through increased operational capacity at the ports.
