The final rites of the late Mrs. Kalasuri Latha Walpola will be held under state patronage on December 31 at the Borella Public Cemetery

The last rites of the late Mrs. Kalasuri Latha Walpola, who passed away on December 27, will be performed with full state patronage on December 31, following a decision by the government.

Her remains will lie at the Jayaratne Respect Hall in Borella from 9.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. on December 29 and 30, allowing the public to pay their final respects.

On December 31, her body will be placed at Independence Square until 2.00 p.m after which religious observances will be held.

The final rites will thereafter take place at the Borella Public Cemetery.
