Rainfall Expected to Ease After Tuesday, Says Meteorology Department
Rain is expected over the central highlands tonight (3) and tomorrow (4), with the current rainy conditions likely to ease from tomorrow afternoon, Director General of the Department of Meteorology Ajith Wijemanne said.
Speaking at a media briefing held at the Department of Government Information on Monday (3), he said rainfall over the western slopes of the central hills could increase again after August 6.
He also noted that a tropical cyclone developing south of Japan in the Pacific Ocean could influence weather patterns, leading to increased rainfall across the island after August 6.
