Office of Public Service Salaries and Pensions Commission Opens Today (04)
The official office of the Public Service Salaries and Pensions Commission, established to recommend reforms in the salaries and pensions of public officers, was inaugurated today (4) at 10.00 a.m. at its office on Malalasekara Mawatha, Colombo 7.
The Commission was established under an Extraordinary Gazette issued on June 22, 2026, by Presidential directive. Its mandate includes addressing issues related to public sector salaries and pensions, improving professionalism in the public service, and recommending structural reforms in line with technological and global trends.
The Commission is also scheduled to officially begin inviting proposals and suggestions from trade unions, organizations and the public from tomorrow in support of its reform process.
