President Directs Officials to Ensure Uninterrupted Disaster Relief – Funds to Be Released as Needed
Director General of Government Information, H.S.K.J. Bandara, announced that Rs. 1.2 billion has already been allocated for ongoing disaster relief efforts across the country.
He further stated that an additional Rs. 30 billion has been earmarked in the 2025 budget to meet urgent emergency requirements.
The President has instructed all Government Agents to request funds as needed to respond swiftly to the prevailing situation. He has also directed all relevant authorities to carry out disaster relief activities effectively and without any hindrance, ensuring timely assistance to affected communities.
