Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga speeds up vacating her official residence!
According to reliable sources, former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has begun moving her belongings from her official residence on Independence Avenue in Colombo.
This move follows the recent cancellation of privileges granted to former Presidents under the Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Act, which required them to vacate official residences provided by the state.
The former President, who had previously requested to remain in the official residence until November 30, citing an illness, has now reportedly commenced the process of vacating the premises.
According to her media office, she is expected to completely vacate the official residence within the next few days.
