Strict action against drivers of vehicles with unauthorized modifications from tomorrow

Deputy Minister of Transport Dr. Prasanna Gunasena says that special attention will be paid to vehicles that are running with loud and various tunes, various decorative parts for decoration and vehicles that are running with additional lights of different colors that flash on and off, and the law will be strictly enforced on such vehicles from tomorrow.

The Deputy Minister stated this in a post on his Facebook account and requested the public to pay attention to this measure.

” If we, as bus passengers, observe such buses, we should immediately file a complaint with the relevant departments. It is our duty. ” , ” I think that since the government is also taking some action now, if the bus we are travelling on does not follow the rules and regulations, we should immediately file a complaint with the police.” “First, we will check it. If we do not accept it, we will have to file a complaint. Because buses carry people, not goods.” Several citizens said this when asked about this.

This announcement was made after a tragic accident that occurred last Thursday (04) night near the 24th milepost on the Ella-Wellawaya road. A luxury jeep crashed into a bus from behind, breaking a metal safety barrier and falling about 1,000 feet into a cliff.
