Tourist arrivals up by 198,235
The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority says that 198,235 tourists visited the country during the month of August this year. This is an increase of 20.4% compared to the number of arrivals in August last year.
According to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority,
In August, 46,473 tourists arrived from India, which is 23.4%. In addition, 19,764 from the United Kingdom, 12,500 from Germany, 12,294 from China and 10,495 from France also arrived in Sri Lanka in August.
Accordingly, the number of tourist arrivals from January 01 to August 31, 2025 is 1,566,523.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority stated that of these, 325,595 tourists came from India, 118,916 from Russia and 151,141 from the United Kingdom.
