A demand – for the sake of ceasefire in the Gaza Strip!

Israel has asked Hamas to release all hostages held in the Gaza Strip in order to achieve a ceasefire, a TV report reported.

The report, which claims that according to Israeli intelligence, Hamas is holding about 50 hostages, reports that Hamas and Israeli security forces say that some of them have died, while Israeli security forces say that only 20 hostages are still alive.

According to a new ceasefire plan brokered by Qatar and Egypt, about half of the hostages are to be released within a 60-day ceasefire. It includes the bodies of 18 dead hostages and 10 living hostages.

Hamas has already accepted the proposal. But Israeli government spokesman David Menzer says that the release of all hostages is necessary for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Meanwhile, foreign media reports indicate that the Israeli cabinet is expected to approve a military plan to seize Gaza City in the coming days, the same TV news outlet reported.
