Training Programme on Innovative Leadership for Organization Growth and Excellence for Minority Youths (21-25 September 2026)
A delegation of 28 minority youths from diverse background across Sri Lanka participated in a five-day training programme on Innovative Leadership for Organization Growth and Excellence (ILOGE) at the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Noida, from 21–25 September 2026. NIESBUD is a premier organization of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, engaged in training, consultancy, research, etc. in order to promote entrepreneurship and Skill Development.
The programme provided participants with an opportunity to strengthen their leadership capabilities and gain practical exposure to contemporary approaches to leadership, organizational development and community engagement. The sessions covered a range of themes including innovative leadership, entrepreneurship and local economic development, self-leadership, design thinking, leadership styles, coaching and mentoring, emotional intelligence, climate leadership and community resilience. The sessions also enabled participants to prepare Back Home Action Plans, guiding them in identifying ways to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the programme within their respective organizations and communities
As part of the programme, the participants undertook a cultural immersion study tour to Agra, including visits to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. The visit provided an opportunity for the participants to experience India’s rich cultural heritage while also facilitating informal interaction and cross-cultural learning.
The programme is part of India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen capacity building and skills development among Sri Lankan professionals and youth. This is pursuant to the announcement made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his State Visit to Sri Lanka in April 2025, offering 700 customized slots annually for Sri Lankan professionals.
