Sri Lanka and Pakistan Explore Stronger Cooperation in Aviation and Port Sectors

Sri Lanka and Pakistan have held discussions aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the aviation and port sectors during a meeting between Minister of Ports, Civil Aviation and Energy Anura Kumaratilleka and a Pakistani delegation led by Defence Secretary Lieutenant General (Retd.) Muhammad Ali on July 2.

The discussions focused on expanding aviation cooperation, enhancing air connectivity between the two countries, increasing flight frequencies, and exploring future development opportunities in the aviation sector. Both sides also exchanged views on sharing expertise in maritime and port operations and improving operational efficiency.

The Pakistani delegation commended Sri Lanka’s development progress in the aftermath of recent economic challenges and discussed ongoing initiatives to strengthen the country’s position as a regional transport and logistics hub.

Senior officials from both countries, including representatives of the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, also attended the meeting.
