“Aadarayen Surakinna – Apata Lowa Dinannata” (Protect Us with Love – To Win the World)

The Government of Sri Lanka has declared a “National Children’s Day Week” from 25 September to 1 October 2025 to celebrate Universal Children’s Day, which falls on 1 October.

This year’s theme is “Aadarayen Surakinna – Apata Lowa Dinannata” (Protect Us with Love to Win the World). Several programmes will be implemented throughout the week under this theme. ,;

It will consist of a series of national programmes aimed at promoting child welfare, protection, and empowerment.

These events will be organized under the guidance of the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Probation and Child Protection Services and other child-focused institutions.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs, recognizing the importance of a dedicated week to raise awareness and mobilize support for children’s rights and well-being across the country.

The week-long celebration will culminate in a national commemoration ceremony on October 1st.
