2024 O/L Exam Results: 13,392 students obtain 9A passes
The Commissioner General of Examinations, A.K.S. Indika Kumari, announced that a total of 237,026 students have qualified for the G.C.E. Advanced Level based on the results of the 2024 G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
This figure represents 73.45% of the total number of candidates who sat for the examination.
In addition, a total of 13,392 students have achieved outstanding results by obtaining ‘A’ passes in all nine subjects. This achievement accounts for 4.15% of the total number of candidates, she added.
She also said that 2.34% of students failed in all subjects.
Meanwhile, the highest number of students passed by province was from the Southern Province, which was 75.64%.
The percentage of students passed by province was
Western – 74.47% Central – 73.91% Southern – 75.64% Northern – 69.86% Eastern – 74.26% Northwestern – 71.47%
North Central – 70.24% Uva – 73.14 Sabaragamuwa – 73.44%
Meanwhile, 69.07% of students passed the Mathematics subject, and 71.06% of students passed the Science subject.
The Commissioner General of Examinations also said that 73.82% of students passed the English subject.
