A delegation of CEOs of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) meets the Prime Minister

A delegation of the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) met with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya on 30 June at the Parliament Complex.
The Prime Minister expressed her appreciation for the ongoing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the recovery and growth of the economy.
The Indian delegation further confirmed that the economic relations between the two countries have been further strengthened through the recent visit of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to India.
The discussions also focused on expanding trade and investment opportunities across key sectors such as technology, manufacturing, education, innovation, entrepreneurship, agriculture, energy and tourism.
Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya further emphasized the importance of sound investment strategies to support youth empowerment, women entrepreneurs and the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.
The event was attended by a group of top Indian CEOs as well as officials from the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, while the Sri Lankan delegation included the Secretary to the Prime Minister, Mr. Pradeep Saputhanthri, Director General of the South Asia and SAARC Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Mr. Niluka Kadurugamuwa, and the Deputy Director of the South Asia Division of the same Ministry, Ms. Prashanthi Krishnamurthy.
