Kalpitiya won Malimawa!

Abdul Satthar Mohammad Rikkas from the National People’s Power (NPP) was chosen as the Chairman of the Kalpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha on June 16th.

In the private ballot conducted this morning, he secured 16 votes, whereas Mohammad Azik, nominated by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, received just 15 votes.

Simultaneously, it has been reported that the election for the chairperson of the Puttalam Urban Council is set to take place this afternoon.

To date, the National People’s Power has succeeded in obtaining power in 04 of the 12 local government institutions within the Puttalam district.
