Indian Foreign Minister on a visit to Sri Lanka
Indian Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. The Indian High Commission informs that Mr. Jaishankar arrived on the island on June 20, 2024, i.e. today, to engage in an official visit to Sri Lanka.
During the visit, he will hold discussions with the Sri Lankan leadership on a wide range of matters related to the partnership.
This is the first bilateral visit by the Minister of External Affairs after the formation of the new government under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Confirming India’s Neighbor First policy, the visit underscores India’s continued commitment to Sri Lanka as its closest maritime neighbor and trusted friend, the press release said.
The visit will add strength to mutually beneficial cooperation across linked projects and sectors.
